With my laboratory research partner, Marshall Campbell, designed an experiment to measure the decay parameters of both parapositronium and orthopositronium, two coupled atomic states of a bound electron - positron (antielectron) pair that eventually collide destructively as matter-antimatter pairs are bound to do.
We conducted the experiment successfully and accurately measured the decay of positronium in 1 atmospheric pressure of air. We then documented a laboratory manual to inform future students in conducting the experiment as a gateway to quantum electrodynamics.
Serving as TA's in the undergraduate laboratory, we continued to make improvements to the experiment and it has been well-established now as an undergraduate modern physics laboratory experiment.
